ASM Research Successful on NG-MATS Proposal

Fairfax, VA - August 13, 2008

(ASM Research, Inc., Fairfax, VA) – ASM Research, Inc. was awarded a sub-contact under the 8(a) STARS vehicle  with our partner Network Engineering Technology, Inc. (N.E.T.) to provide the Army National Guard (ARNG) with the National Guard – Medical Actions Tracking System (NG-MATS), formerly Guard Electronic Medical Record (GEMR). ASM will serve as a subcontractor to N.E.T. in support of this contract. The work will be performed at the National Guard Readiness Center in Arlington, VA.

GEMR, the previous solution, provided the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Chief Surgeon’s Office with the ability to process all medical waivers, scan, retrieve, and review documents. GEMR supported electronic submission, receipt, storage, access to, and tracking of all types of medical waiver actions and inquiries. This solution has lead to the creation of a historical database housing medical Waiver documentation and Review Actions.

ASM will provide NGB Surgeons with NG-MATS with enhanced GEMR operational capabilities to include complete document workflow and image management, integration into the current suite of ARNG and USARC applications and a complete integration to the Army’s Recruiting Command. A successful integration of NG-MATS and other ARNG and Army systems is essential to fulfilling the mission of the Reserve Component and the Army National Guard. With NG-MATS, the ARNG and USARC will be able to continue supporting both its Federal and State missions to “maintain properly trained and equipped units available for prompt mobilization for war, national emergency or as otherwise needed” and “provide trained and disciplined forces for domestic emergencies or as otherwise required by state law.”

Kevin Holland, ASM Program Manager, said, “ASM is extremely pleased and honored to continue supporting and working with the National Guard on the NG-MATS project.  We believe that the ASM and N.E.T. team of reliable, dedicated employees will deliver a complete and successful project.”
